Fencing our Lambs
Updated: Aug 16, 2023
Today we were working on fencing some of our flock, namely our lambs (they appear in one of our videos, autumn's lambs) Normally we'll shift their location about twice a week to provide more luscious and green pasture to our sheep.
It take roughly about an hour to set up our electric fence netting, and it's an entire circus for moving them, as they aren't the smartest creatures and tend to test our patience and not do as they are supposed to.
What we like about the netting fence is that it keeps the sheep in and the predators out. The only downside is that it's a pain to take down, move, and put up again when we shift the sheep to a new grazing area.
We love our sheep, even though sometimes they give us a headache. Fencing is a part of our weekly routine, and it's just a part of raising sheep. We hope in the future to get permanent fences up but for now, we work with what we have.
